Knottingley's terraces and later housing sit beside the navigation, close to Ferrybridge. We find where moth larvae are living and treat them at the source.
Knottingley's glass-making history is a good reminder that old industrial towns have housing of very different ages side by side. Moth work here ranges from small terraces with a single wardrobe infested to later estate homes where wool-rich carpet carries the problem into a hall and stairs. Each starts with the same questions: what has been put away, what has been brought in, and what sits in one spot unmoved?
Close to Ferrybridge and the water, some ground-floor rooms and outhouses can be cool and still, which suits larvae living in stored textiles. We look at those places for webbing, cases and dust-like droppings, as well as the more obvious bedrooms. If we find activity, we treat the feeding sites and explain how to wash, freeze and store what you want to keep. Our survey is free, and any treatment cost depends on the property and extent.
Roughly. Extensive grazing, old cases and plenty of droppings suggest a longer-established problem, while a few adults and light webbing suggest a recent one. It is not exact. We make a judgement from the evidence and explain how confident we are.
Outhouses holding old bedding, upholstered furniture or clothing can host larvae, and they can spread into the main house. We include them in the survey if there is anything fabric-based stored there, and treat only where we find activity.

Read the advice →Moth treatment is not a fixed-price job, because it depends on where the larvae are and how far they have spread. This guide explains what influences the cost and how to compare quotes.
Read the advice →Clothes moths do their harm quietly and out of sight. Knowing the signs helps you catch them before a favourite jumper or a valuable rug is ruined.
Read the advice →Clothes moths settle where fabric is left undisturbed and slightly soiled. A handful of storage habits and a regular clean make your home a much poorer place for them.
Read the advice →Washing, freezing and vacuuming solve many small moth problems. When moths keep returning or reach carpets and the roof space, a professional survey is usually the quicker route.

Thank you Sean and Zack for your speedy and efficient response to our wasp problem. We originally thought we had 2 wasps nests but on the end had 4. After our initial call they came out the next day and even came out a few days later when another next was discovered. Thank you, we will definitely recommend you.Mrs Carter8 August 2018
