Sheffield's hills hold Victorian terraces, student streets and city flats, all with places for moths to hide. We survey, find the larvae and treat them.
Sheffield is built over hills and river valleys on the edge of the Peak District, and many of its homes are Victorian terraces with cellars, attics and steep stairs. Wool coats, boots and walking gear are common there. Student areas add a regular turnover of belongings, and city-centre apartments bring fitted wardrobes and storage cages. In each, clothes moths need the same thing: natural fibre, left alone.
Our approach is to inspect first. In a terrace we look at cellars, bedroom cupboards and stair carpet. In a student house, we ask about second-hand rugs and furniture and what stays in the house over summer. In an apartment we examine wardrobes, carpet edges and any shared storage. We then treat confirmed feeding sites and advise on washing and sealed storage. Commercial service contracts are available for landlords and businesses with several properties.
It is possible where there are shared walls, corridors or storage, though most outbreaks stay within the unit where infested items are kept. If you live in a block, tell the landlord or managing agent so shared areas can be checked.
Terms vary, so check the tenancy agreement. An inspection report from us can help show what was found and where the problem began. Who pays depends on the agreement and the cause, which is a matter between tenant and landlord.
