Tiny pale insects in a Birstall loft box or bedroom cupboard are usually booklice, and they rarely appear without mould or a damp patch nearby.
Birstall has older stone housing and later estates, and a good number of its homes have lofts, cupboards and spare rooms used for storage. That storage matters more than most people realise. Cardboard boxes of photographs, paperwork and books take up damp air from a cold roof space or garage and slowly become mouldy. A few months later, booklice are crawling over the lids. Clearing the boxes alone does not stop it happening again.
So we inspect the area, work out why it is damp and treat the infested items and surfaces. In older houses the cause may be a draughty roof space, a cold chimney breast or a downpipe leaking at the joint; in estate houses, steam from bathrooms often reaches the loft hatch. Same-day appointments are available, and there are no call-out charges, which makes it easy to get someone to look.
Only if it is safe to do so. Bag mouldy items, keep sound ones separate and avoid shaking boxes indoors. If the loft is hard to access or heavily affected, we can look first and tell you what needs shifting.
It might kill some visible insects, but it does not remove mould or the damp feeding them, and the problem often returns. Misusing sprays can also be a risk in enclosed spaces. A proper inspection and targeted treatment is usually more effective.

Thank you Sean and Zack for your speedy and efficient response to our wasp problem. We originally thought we had 2 wasps nests but on the end had 4. After our initial call they came out the next day and even came out a few days later when another next was discovered. Thank you, we will definitely recommend you.Mrs Carter8 August 2018
