Wakefield's Victorian terraces, converted industrial buildings and later estates all hold wool and dust. We inspect, find where carpet beetle larvae feed and treat them.
A city with a cathedral and a woollen and coalfield past has a varied housing stock, and carpet beetles reach all of it. Victorian terraces tend to give them floor voids and cupboards; former industrial buildings give them size, storage and shared service spaces; later estates give them fitted carpet. The pest is the same, but our inspection changes with each setting.
In converted buildings, a flat owner may be unable to see the whole picture, because the source can be a communal area or the unit next door. In terraces and estates, it is usually closer: a rug, a wardrobe, a radiator gap. We will tell you honestly if the evidence points beyond your own front door. We are fully insured, our technicians are trained, and you can ask for a free survey.
Between tenancies, lift carpet edges, vacuum thoroughly, check upholstered furniture and remove old or stored fabric. Keeping records of inspections helps. If damage keeps appearing in one place, ask for an inspection to look at the cause rather than treating symptoms.
Not in themselves. The signs are cast skins, fine bristly hairs, and damage to fabric. These can collect in corners and windowsills. A thorough vacuum clears them, but it does not remove larvae hidden deeper in carpets or voids.
