In the Spen Valley, houses built for the mill trade have found new lives as family homes, and some of their old floors suit fleas surprisingly well.
Cleckheaton grew around its mills, and many stone terraces from that era have been modernised inside while keeping their original floor structure. Under modern carpets there may be gaps and boards where fleas can settle undisturbed. The estates built later have a simpler layout, but the same basic pattern holds: pets rest in a few favoured places, and fleas build up around them.
Treatment concentrates on those places first, then extends to stairs and bedrooms. We use the time on site to explain what you should wash, what you should leave and how to vacuum. No call-out charges apply, and a free quote is given before treatment begins. Price depends on property size, severity and visits. If neighbours are affected too, we are happy to talk through what that might involve.
Reactions vary. Some people react strongly to flea saliva and others barely notice. Being bitten less does not mean you are free of fleas, and the whole household should be considered when deciding on treatment.
You may see some activity for a time as pupae hatch and the fleas come into contact with treated surfaces. That is normal. If you are still seeing plenty after a couple of weeks, tell us and we will review it.

Fleas are tiny, fast and hard to catch, so you often notice the effects first. Bites around the ankles and a pet that will not stop scratching are the usual starting points.
