In a small town on the River Wharfe with older stone property, mice settle into walls and outbuildings. We find where they live and clear them.
Tadcaster is a small North Yorkshire town on the River Wharfe with a long brewing heritage. Older stone property near the centre has thick walls and long-standing cellars, and the river banks and gardens behind provide shelter for mice. Later housing on the edges adds gardens and garages that open onto fields and verges. Gaps run deep in old stone, and nests can sit well inside the wall.
Mice nesting in a stone building can be hard to reach, because gaps run deep. We use the signs on the surface, such as droppings in lines along skirting, grease marks and noises at night, to work out where the activity is concentrated. Treatment is planned around that. Where businesses store grain, packaging or food, we advise on stacking and sealed storage. Fully insured and trained technicians carry out the work, and a free survey is available.
Along walls, pipes and skirting at the places mice run regularly. Their fur leaves dark smears over time. Marks near holes or beside droppings suggest a regular route, which helps us place traps or bait. Seeing more than one is a good reason to ring.
A single sighting can mean more are nearby, since mice rarely live alone. It is sensible to check for droppings and gaps, and to call us if signs continue or you find more than one. We will talk through what is sensible.
